What is Zend

What is Zend?

Zend is a multi-currency digital settlement asset issued by Trnznd, S.A. It is designed to help businesses move, hold and settle value with less reliance on any single national currency.

How is Zend different from a USD stablecoin?

A dollar stablecoin ties its value to one economy’s currency and monetary policy. If your organisation doesn’t run in dollars, it takes on currency risk every time you use it.

Zend is backed by a blended reserve of fiat currencies, so its value is stabilised globally rather than anchored to one economy. Its volatility stays low whichever currency you measure it from, not just from the dollar’s perspective.

Who issues Zend?

Zend is issued by Trnznd, S.A., a financial technology company incorporated in Panama.

Is Zend fully backed?

Yes. Every Zend in circulation is backed by a minimum of 100% reserves, held in cash and cash equivalents.

What supports the Zend reserve?

A diversified reserve of major fiat currencies, held as cash and cash equivalents and segregated from Trnznd’s operational accounts. [Confirm what the published reserve composition will show]

Is Zend an investment?

No. Zend is designed as a settlement and treasury utility asset. It isn’t intended to be marketed, offered or used as an investment product, security, deposit, savings product or speculative instrument, and it carries no entitlement to profits, dividends, interest or financial return. See the important notice.

How it works

How do I get started?

Request access, then complete a streamlined verification process for your organisation and its authorised representatives. Once your organisation is verified, you can buy Zend in the Zend Portal and start settling.

How do I buy or redeem Zend?

In the Zend Portal, exchange major stablecoins or fiat currencies for Zend, and redeem the same way. You can buy or redeem in over 30 currencies.

How is access to the Zend Portal protected?

Multi-factor authentication is required every time you sign in to the Zend Portal: a magic link sent to your email, plus a code from an authenticator app. It protects your organisation’s sensitive information and the wallets and accounts linked to it, so a stolen password alone isn’t enough to get in.

How fast is settlement?

Near-instant. Settlement takes seconds rather than correspondent-banking days, and runs 24/7.

What does it cost?

Transaction costs are measured in pennies rather than dollars. [Link to the published fee schedule]

Which blockchains does Zend run on?

Zend is available on Ethereum, Solana (SOL) and Tron (TRON), so you have liquidity on the chain of your choice and can move between them.

Who can I settle with?

Once your organisation holds Zend, it can settle with any Ethereum, Solana (SOL) or Tron (TRON) wallet, anywhere in the world. Minting and burning Zend directly is open only to verified organisations, and the wallets involved are screened.

Governance

How are the reserves held?

In segregated custody, structurally separated from Trnznd’s operational accounts, and under professional management.

How is the reserve verified?

Through monthly reserve attestations, and regular audits published by one of the Big Four accountancy firms. Reports are published on the transparency page.

Who can use Zend?

Organisations of every kind: businesses, trusts, charities, foundations and other organisations. Access is subject to onboarding, verification of the organisation and its authorised representatives, compliance checks and the rules of your jurisdiction. The network is open only to verified organisations, and aligned with global FATF standards.

Are wallets and activity screened?

Yes. Verified users of the Zend Portal have their wallets and activity screened whenever they interact with Trnznd, including every mint and burn. Trnznd may refuse to mint or burn Zend, and may freeze or seize assets, in line with legal requirements.

What does “Purpose Beyond Payment” mean?

Yield earned on the Zend reserve is channelled into social impact projects worldwide. It is not paid to Zend holders. Projects align with the UN Sustainable Development Goals; the Trnznd community (Zend holders) can vote on them, but the vote is advisory only and the final decision rests with Trnznd and its officers. How do Zend, Trnzit and Trnznd relate?

All three belong to the Trnznd Group. Trnznd S.A., headquartered in Panama, issues the group’s stablecoin solutions, including Zend. Trnznd Technologies, the group’s technology arm in the DIFC Innovation Hub in the UAE, offers Trnzit, a separate, non-custodial platform. More about the group.
